Challenge 

A multisite North American refinery operator needed to deliver safe, on time, on budget shutdowns and turnarounds with measurable ROI and reduced risk. Planners and contractors frequently struggled without a single, up-to-date visual source of truth for scoping, tie-ins, access, and SIMOPS. This results in repeated walkdowns, unclear tag locations, and late clarifications, all of which contributed to delays, inefficiencies and unnecessary rework. Contractor onboarding was inconsistent creating late clarifications and schedule risk.  

Solution 

Combining Mobideo’s STO platform with R2S brought together workflow management and reality-based visual context, provided navigable context; deep links from tags and work orders opened the exact location for measurement, markup and evidence attachments. Lightweight API/link integrations kept planning data aligned; multicompany access and blended enablement supported adoption across internal teams and contractors.  

Having one-click spatial context for tags and work orders, improved remote scoping, work-pack accuracy, and contractor alignment ahead of TAR windows. 

Impact 

• Remote scoping and early hazard identification helped reduce walkdowns and minimise surprises, streamlining the planning process.  

• Deep links from Mobideo tags and work orders in R2S enabled “right place, first time” planning, ensured teams acted with confidence.  

• The adoption of this approach across multiple companies, including contractors and planners, demonstrated strong engagement and improved coordination.  

• As a result, work-pack accuracy increased, site visits decreased, and contractor alignment became clearer.  

• Integrating Mobideo’s robust STO workflow with the reality-based visual context of R2S, has contributed to safer, on-time, and on-budget TARs.
